Comprehensive Anger Management Individual and Group Workshops

Congratulations on taking a first step toward real change.  By reading this page you are already doing something to change behaviors. Behavioral change is about small positive steps!

The term anger management commonly refers to a system of therapeutic techniques and exercises by which someone with excessive or uncontrollable anger can control or reduce the triggers, degrees, and effects of an angered emotional state. You might be visiting this site because your actions are causing concern amongst friends or family members, you might be feeling that your anger is disallowing you to be productive in your work or home life or you might be asked by your attorney, employer or court representative to seek out “anger management services”.

Regardless of the reason for getting to this point, rest assured, you have come to the right place. Associated Behavioral Health offers both group and individual sessions to meet your specific needs. We provide you with multiple locations, flexible payment plans and your choice of counselors that best fit your individual counseling needs.

Specialists in the field of anger management counseling often recommend a balanced approach to anger, which both controls the emotion and allows the emotion to express itself in a healthy way.

We all know what anger is, and we’ve all felt it: Whether as a fleeting annoyance or as a full-fledged rage.

Anger is a completely normal, usually healthy, human emotion.  But when it gets out of control and turns destructive, it can lead to problems: problems at work, in your personal relationships and in the overall quality of your life.  But even worse, it can make you feel as though you’re at the mercy of an unpredictable and powerful monster.  Our workshops are meant to help you understand and get a handle on using your anger effectively and not destructively.

Leonard Ingram writes that one out of five Americans has an anger management problem.  Anger is a natural human emotion and is nature’s way of empowering us to fight or take flight.  It is an energizing force to alert us to a potential threat toward our well being.

The problem is not the anger, but rather the mismanagement of our anger.  Mismanaged anger is at the root of many of our social dysfunctions: road rage, social violence, workplace violence, divorce and many other examples are symptoms of an underlying dysfunctional response.

Our workshops will be divided into three main sections: discussion about anger, personal reflection time, and lessons in alternative methods of problem solving.  The effectiveness of our sessions will be limited only to the level of investment each of us makes in self-disclosure and personal risk.

Each workshop will be designed for those who are present.  However, all teaching experiences will include core materials designed to meet the needs of those who would like to learn more about controlling their anger.

The curriculum is designed to meet the needs of court or probation ordered educational experiences if needed.
